UTILITY PAYMENTS / CITATIONS
The Town of Mountainair has installed a new transaction drawer at Town Hall. You can do your transactions through this transaction window
during normal business hours.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm / 1:00pm-4:30pm
To pay by phone, call 505-847-2321. Fees do apply. Please read about credit/debit card fees below under the section for online payments.
Please note, if Mountainair Town Hall gets closed due to a COVID related reason, then the pay by transaction window and pay by phone options will be unavailable. We will make sure and place signage at the transaction window that will notify you of closures. Please look for this signage if no one answers the transaction window during normal business hours.
Currently, the State of New Mexico Public Health Order has a 5 person limit on mass gatherings. We have 5 employees at Town Hall and allowing any customer in would put us over the limit on mass gatherings. This is the reason for Town Hall being closed to the public.
You can also pay your utility bill or court fine via the Town Hall dropbox. The dropbox is located outside the Town Hall by the U.S. Flag Pole. If you pay using this method, please place your check/money order in an envelope and put your information on the envelope including name, address and phone number. It is recommended you do NOT place a cash payment in the dropbox.

You can also pay your bill online. Use the link below. If you pay by this method, there is a credit/debit card fee. The fee is a percentage of the total bill and not one set price. I would personally recommend using transaction window, drop box or mail if possible.
The Town of Mountainair suspended utility shut-off and late fees when the pandemic first occurred in March 2020. We began with late fee processing and utility shut-offs in July 2020. The Town of Mountainair re-suspended utility shut-off and late fees for November and December of 2020.
Please be in contact with Town Hall if you are having issues paying. We will work with you to develop a payment plan or get you assistance. You must adhere to payment plans you set or utilities will be disconnected, unless utility shut-offs have been suspended. Thank you for your understanding. Depending on the current Public Health Order, CNMEC may or may not be open to the public. If CNMEC is closed to the public, they offer these two payment options for you:
CNMEC accepts payments via their dropbox at the Mountainair location.
They accept check or money orders. They check the dropbox every weekday morning and afternoon, except for holidays.

MOTOR VEHICLE DIVISION
Mountainair MVD Clerk Gloria Luna is available to assist you. Call her at 505-847-2591 and leave a voicemail with your name and number. She will call you back. Please realize she is extremely busy during this time. She will do her best to get back to you in a timely manner. Depending on the Public Health Order and the status of Town Hall, MVD may or may not be open during normal business days or hours. Please call the number and leave her a voicemail to get an appointment scheduled or to get instructions on how to get your particular request completed. At some points during the Public Health Order, she may require you to use the dropbox to drop off documents, then she will mail you your documents when she is completed.
